PT. Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi (HIT) founded, it is one of national shipping companies that owns and operates tankers of LNG, oil, chemical/methanol and container vessel, tug and barges.

PT. Humpuss Karbometil Selulosa (HKS) founded and begins manufacturing of carboxymethyl cellulose and polyanionic cellulose.

PT. Gatari Air Service (GAS) established as one of national private air chartered companies that owns and operates a large number of rotary and fixed-wing aircrafts.

The establishment of PT. Humpuss Aromatik (HA) gives grounds for the Humpuss Group’s growth into the areas of petrochemical processing, production, distribution and related logistics and support facilities.

PT. Kaltim Methanol Industri (KMI) set up, and is currently one of the the largest methanol producers in Indonesia.

To strengthen and enlarge the scope of its trading business, PT. Humpuss General Trade Division changes its status to a seperate business unit named PT. Humpuss Trading (HT).

PT.  Humpuss Pengolahan Minyak (HPM) established together with the building of its oil refinery in Cepu, Central Java.

Hutomo Mandala Putra gives up his position as President Director to Abdul Wahab and becomes President Commissioner.

Indra Tjahja replaces Abdul Wahab as President Director.

Eko Putro Sandjojo appointed the fourth President Director to replace Indra Tjahja.

The Board of Commissioners assigns Tito Soetalaksana the fifth President Director to supersede Eko Putro Sandjojo.
